An Aeta community in Zambales is threatened with the entry of large-scale mining projects in their ancestral lands. Not only are they facing the loss of their only source of livelihood, the Aetas also fear that the entry of mining operations in their ancestral lands will soon result in environmental disasters. This 30-minute documentary weighs in on the issues surrounding the entry of large-scale mining operations as these impact on the basic rights of communities, especially of indigenous communities where most of the mining projects are located.

Members of indigenous communities in Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines protested against the incursion of large-scale mining activities and the Diduyon dam project on their ancestral domains, saying these so-called development projects will poison their farmlands, deprive them of their sources of livelihood, and displace them from their ancestors’ homes. The protest was held on April 30, 2012.
