The Philippine Human Rights Information Center (PhilRights) is looking for four (4) full-time Program Associates to be based in Quezon City.
1. Research Associate (RA)
PhilRights is looking for someone with strong research skills to support the collection and sharing of data and maintenance of the data filing system of the institution. The ideal candidate must have experience in at least one of these areas:
- Data Collection through Interviews, FGDs, and Secondary Sources
- Safekeeping of Data and Database Management
- Quantitative and Qualitative Research
- Data Analysis
- Report Writing
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct face-to-face, phone, and online interviews, FGDs, and collection of secondary data;
- Maintain and develop the physical and computer data filing system;
- Prepare data and related documents for the needs of the institution and partner organizations;
- Assist in writing reports and research outputs; and
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Sound understanding of current socio-political dynamics, especially in relation to the Human Rights situation in the Philippines;
- Demonstrated ability in planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating information and research initiatives;
- Keen eye for details and critical thinking;
- Strict adherence to the principles of data privacy and confidentiality;
- Strong and proven oral and writing skills in Filipino and English. Knowledge of other Philippine languages is a plus;
- Proven skills in research tools and methods;
- Proven facilitation, presentation, and collaboration skills working with multi-level stakeholders;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and flexibly, as well as cooperatively as part of a team;
- Demonstrated ability to organize work, manage time, determine priorities and meet deadlines; and
- Strong commitment to Human Rights and social justice.
2. Support and Intervention Associate (SIA)
PhilRights is looking for a Support and Intervention Associate who will work closely with families and individuals in extreme distress. The ideal candidate is preferably a Registered Social Worker or has at least one year of experience in case management. Fresh graduates with demonstrated on-the-job experience in case management are welcome to apply.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct interviews and needs assessment using a human rights lens;
- Design and implement relevant intervention activities to address the client’s needs;
- Provide clients with capacitating and resiliency interventions, including psychosocial interventions;
- Facilitate networking and interagency referral for appropriate services;
- Monitor and manage the progress of the clients;
- Regularly update the database of the cases and ensure the security and confidentiality of the client’s data; and
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Sound understanding of current socio-political dynamics, especially in relation to the Human Rights situation;
- Strict adherence to the Social Work principles of acceptance and confidentiality.
- Creativity, resourcefulness, critical thinking, and sound judgment;
- Ability to relate, communicate and work effectively with children and families from a wide range of cultural, social, and economic backgrounds;
- Sound understanding of trauma and mental well-being;
- Excellent skills in liaising with professionals, institutions, and service providers;
- Ability to work independently and flexibly, as well as cooperatively as part of a team;
- Demonstrated ability to organize work, manage time, determine priorities, and meet deadlines; and
- Strong commitment to Human Rights and social justice.
3. Information Associate (Editorial Specialist) (IA-ES) – APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED
PhilRights is looking for someone with strong writing and editorial skills to support the Institution’s production of knowledge materials for advocacy, education, and training. The ideal candidate must have experience in at least one of these areas:
- Newswriting and Editing
- Learning Materials Development
- Content Creation for Print and Digital
Duties and Responsibilities
- Write reports, articles statements, media releases, and other knowledge materials;
- Undertake editorial research, interviews, event coverage, and related tasks;
- Conduct news monitoring and analysis of national and international news events with a human rights lens;
- Conceive, develop, and implement an editorial plan;
- Help in the development of Website and social media content;
- Provide editorial support to PhilRights’ programs, projects, and campaigns; and
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Sound understanding of current socio-political dynamics, especially in relation to the Human Rights situation in the Philippines;
- Demonstrated ability in planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating information and research initiatives;
- Strong and proven writing skills in English and Filipino. Knowledge of other Philippine languages is a plus;
- Experience in graphic design and/or audio-visual production with relevant proficiency in production software (Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, etc.);
- Proven skills in information/communication tools and techniques;
- Proven facilitation, presentation, and collaboration skills working with multi-level stakeholders;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and flexibly, as well as cooperatively as part of a team;
- Demonstrated ability to organize work, manage time, determine priorities and meet deadlines; and
- Strong commitment to Human Rights and social justice.
4. Information Associate (Publications Specialist) (IA-PS) – APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED
PhilRights is looking for someone with strong writing and design skills to support the Institution’s production of human rights publications. The ideal candidate must have experience in at least one of these areas:
- Publications Writing and Editing
- Learning Materials Development
- Graphic Design
- Publications Management
Duties and Responsibilities
- Write publications, including reports, primers, modules, presentation decks, and other knowledge materials;
- Undertake content research, interviews, event coverage, and related tasks;
- Conduct analysis of national and international news events with a human rights lens;
- Conceive, develop, and implement a publications plan, including promotions and distribution;
- Help in the development education-related content for the Website;
- Provide editorial support to PhilRights’ programs, projects, and campaigns; and
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

- Sound understanding of current socio-political dynamics, especially in relation to the Human Rights situation in the Philippines;
